THE PARADISE OF TURKEY

The city of Dalyan in the south-west of Turkey in the province of Muğla is one of the secret spots in the world. Untouched nature, rocky landscapes, beautiful beaches and beautiful bays make Dalyan a unique paradise on the Aegean. But friends of excursions to historical places will also get their money's worth: a visit to the ornate Lycian tombs, which were built around 400 BC. BEACHES & COVES

IZTUZU

NATURAL DREAM BEACH

The peninsula of Iztuzu near Dalyan is particularly inviting for swimming. Several characteristics make this seaside resort something very special. The beach is located at a river estuary and thus offers bathers the exceptional opportunity to swim in both the fresh river water and the salty river water. In addition, the beach is considered one of the most beautiful natural beaches in the world and has already received several awards. The sand is clean, soft and fine, making it safe for families and children.

 

The beach is in the middle of a nature reserve and is cared accordingly: to protect the turtles, the beach may not be entered between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. and dogs are also not permitted.

Despite the strict nature conservation measures, the beach still offers all the amenities for visitors: beach chairs and umbrellas, changing rooms and small food stands are available. Fantastic views and clear water make this beach the highlight of the region.

KARGICAK BAY

A CHIC BAY JUST A STONE'S THROW AWAY

Right in the Dalyan area there is a true pearl among the bays of the holiday region: Kargicak bay. An elegant, well-kept beach and a unique, ecologically designed farm with attached gastronomy in the immediate vicinity make this place an extraordinary experience. The locally grown fruits and vegetables are processed directly by the on-site restaurant's chef himself into delicious local dishes just waiting to be tasted.

But this place is not only convincing in terms of gastronomy: outdoor sports fans get their money's worth here. Cycling, canoeing, diving, climbing and hiking can be practiced here just as well as yoga and meditation in picturesque nature. 

SARIGERME

KM LONG BEACHES, MANY POSSIBILITIES

The beach of the village of Sarigerme offers golden views of the Aegean Sea and the offshore Baba Island. The beach is well developed and impresses with its quality.

 

The ancient village "Pisilis" used to be on this spot, nowadays world-famous hotel chains have settled and outdo each other with a range of beach bars, restaurants, water sports stations including diving and beach sports such as beach volleyball as well as spa and wellness offers. On request, many offers can also be booked for non-hotel users, making this beach a real all-rounder. It is not for nothing that this beach is a popular place among vacationers thanks to its versatility.

OLUDENIZ

PARADISE BEACHES AND PARAGLIDING

It is considered the most beautiful beach in Turkey: The Blue Lagoon Ölüdeniz is as picturesque as in a picture book. Surrounded by idyllic mountain landscapes and dense pine forests, the blue lagoon impresses above all with its magnificent play of colors in the water. The sea glitters in different colors from turquoise to aquamarine blue. Dark shades of blue and green contrast with the bold water colors. An excellent water quality with a calm water surface with hardly any waves ensures the best fun when swimming and snorkeling. The fine sandy beach is well protected from wind and weather by the adjacent pine forests and hills and invites you to relax. Most of the beach sections offer rental of sun loungers and umbrellas. Here you can relax in breathtaking surroundings and let your soul dangle.  

Since the entire bay is under nature protection and is accordingly lovingly cared for, most of the distances to the beach can only be visited for a small fee.

If you want to see the beautiful scenery of the lagoon from a bird's eye view, you should definitely try paragliding. You get an indescribable feeling of unlimited freedom and are rewarded with the most beautiful views of the far-reaching nature.

SARSALA

DREAMLIKE BAY WITH CRYSTAL CLEAR WATER

In the midst of picturesque, green nature there is a true pearl of the region: Sarsala Bay with a sandy beach and a natural harbor for excursion boats and yachts. This spot is popular with both locals and holidaymakers. The enchanting bay offers excellent shelter from winds and the clear water is great for swimming. LYCIAN ROCK TOMBS

AN ANCIENT SIGHT

Directly in Dalyan there are several graves embedded in a steep rock face, which are definitely worth seeing. The ancient tombs merge into a unique rock formation and a breathtaking mountainous landscape surrounds this fascinating structure.

The Lycian rock tombs can best be admired from the water on a boat tour.

KAUNOS

HISTORICAL SIGHTS

There are many historical places in the world, but to admire a small antique town is something special. Kaunos is one of the most popular sightseeing destinations in the region and a real highlight for archeology fans and history buffs. Imposing ruins in a dreamy landscape as far as the eye can see. Many remains of the ancient structures can still be seen today, in particular rock-cut tombs dating back to the 4th century BC. B.C., but also a Roman theater, large thermal baths, temples and an acropolis. Numerous Greek inscriptions of the city have also been preserved.

 

If you are sporty and bring good shoes and make it to the highest point, you will be rewarded with a breathtaking view. The view from the edge of the Colosseum gives an impressive impression of the size, economic and strategic importance of Kaunos.

DAY TRIP TO THE ANCIENT TOWN OF TLOS AND THE IMPRESSIVE SAKLIKENT GORGE

A visit to the ancient city of Tlos is perfect for a day trip. See the remains of the castle, agora, necropolis, theater and Roman baths, and discover the remains of the Tlos citadel.

 

In the afternoon, explore the Saklikent Gorge while trekking through the cool waters and the sun hanging down over you. The impressive Saklikent Gorge is the second longest in Europe and impresses with a varied panorama amidst lush canyons.
